Silent, soft and slow.....

One of the memories from my childhood is of waking up on a winter’s morning and knowing that something had changed since I went to sleep. The bedroom was lighter and the world quieter – much quieter. The snow had fallen – silent, soft and slow. If I could make an appeal to those who have it within their power to change something in our environment it would be for a quieter world....a world in which noise pollution becomes a serious offence...a world in which motorists do not play their car sound systems at ‘ballistic’.....a world in which the sound system in the cinema is not so loud that you cannot hear the dialogue.....a world in which....I had better stop at this point for fear of turning this blog into a rant.

I just love your blog it is incredibly beautiful and I am just so impressed that you spend so much time on such sophisticated, creative, charming, and lovely pursuits while I seem to spend much of my time........ well do you have a top security site somewhere?......? Your photos are wonderful and inspiring, and I have to say that I agree with everything you say about noise. My current pet hate is aimed at tv documentaries which run music alongside speech. I have explained to the BBC that when they do this I am compelled to listen to the music and miss all the speech. I find it all so mindlessly ignorant it makes me want to scream. Also the drum rolls announcing the news make me want to scream........ and car radios....just don't go there. It's a good thing I live in a quiet place. Oh lovely blogger may all love surround you, Elaine

I happened upon your blog because I am looking through the thousands of blogs that appeared because of Blog Action Day!

I like your sensibilities and the excellent photos of the things you come across in daily life. I do the same thing. Isn't if fun!
